I am an eco-effective fashion designer, artist, and techno futurist who is passionate about fashion, art, film and tecnology. I meld historical knowledge and out-of-the-box thinking into my creations; whether they be red carpet evening gowns, combining tech with art, or product managing and building systems within companies.
My focus and talent is to explore and find important pieces, bring them together in unique ways, and in doing so, show how diversity is better.
I am the proud director and producer of the Alana TheWeb3Girl Show, I work for the worlds first digital only fashion house, The Fabricant, and I create eco fashion and jewelry through my brands Annatarian and PeaceLoveEarth.
I am a Los Angeles-based contemporary artist and pioneer in iPad painting and Augmented Reality Art. My art combines my four primary areas of study: art, technology, film and the human condition. I use cutting edge technology to create art that delves into the deepest parts of the human psyche. My visceral, heavily archetypal works emanate from resurrected and persistent visions. The workings of my physical and emotional states have become revered roadmaps as I create emotional landscapes. The simple lines and brilliant colors capture complicated states of the human psyche and allow identification and acceptance of varied emotions. I believe the most personal expressions are also the most universal. Seeing our inner world reflected back to us from the outer world provides a feeling of connection. I use art and technology as a way to connect more deeply with myself and others, for me there is no greater pursuit.

Art is a communication tool. I use it as a way to communicate with the deepest parts of myself and the deepest parts of others. These are the parts that most need to be seen and most need to be heard. We are all connected from the inside out.
Techniques
I often first see images on a screen in my mind then begin an exploration starting with my body. This process yields a concept or hypothesis which eventually becomes a visual metaphor. When I draw and paint a transformation occurs as I incorporate the feelings and sensations. Seeing the painting, I find opportunities for growth and understanding. These pave the way for expansion of my Self and the way I experience life and its possibilities and challenges. Myself and others find that the paintings continue to live, breathe and unfold to provide more insight and revelations in perfect timing.
Career Highlights
My work has been featured by Timothy Potts, Director of the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, Bryan Barcena Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA), Nicholas Barlow, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Victoria and Albert Museum in London, where he recently spoke, the LA Center for Digital Art (LACDA), Technarte, the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art (SLOMA) and more.
“Your beautiful dress was a huge hit! People loved it! It sparkled on camera and my co-workers said it was the best dress I've worn in a dozen years covering the Academy Awards. And, I was comfortable! Thank you so very much"
- Carla Wohl, Los Angeles, CA
“Grammy Lifesaver! Just a quick note to thank you for all your hard work, generosity and great last minute designs. You did a wonderful job. Thanks for going above and beyond and pulling it all together for me. I can't wait to have another occasion to call you for. This time...way in advance. Everyone loves the story of the two dress Grammy outfit. Big Kiss.”

“Anna designed my wedding dress and that was not a small feat. I am a journalist who has covered fashion shows in Milan, Paris, NYC and London and so I am very critical of design. Anna is the designer to watch!

Daniel's brilliant use of digital platforms is simply formed and complete — personal and social commentary that illuminates his vision. Moreover, his works have been selected by key curators (including Getty Director Timothy Potts) for a series of highly competitive LAAA exhibitions."
- Peter Mays, Executive Director, Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA)/Gallery 825
The 2-dimensional, frequently large-scale prints are high-resolution to the point of luminosity. Their expressive color fields and wavering black line drawing are compelling in their own right; it's clear that in these prints, Leighton has used the special aspects afforded by the tech to enhance certain ages-old goals of painting and drawing. The tech is impressive, but to make good art with it, you still have to be a good artist."
- Shana Nys Dambrot, LA Weekly Arts Editor
"Every time I look at Daniel Leighton's paintings, I gasp. I'm discomfited. I'm thrown off my center, right smack dab into the middle of the human condition whether I like it or not. And every time I have the same thought: "Now that is art. I am moved to my core.'"
